DiscoSocks – Motivation
In a world where Funky House isn’t even remotely funky, and Nu Disco doesn’t sound new or anything like Disco, DiscoSocks is about waking the fuck up and getting it bouncing again!
His live shows hinge around the most sweaty, high energy tracks DiscoSocks can find combined with a huge selection of thumped up edits of vintage funk, all underpinned with brutal live slap bass from the man himself.
This is grin inducing, shameless funk fun with a dirty new Orleans feel. Think Parliament/Funkadelic being produced by Thomas Bangalter on steroids. From the future. On a flying-motorbike. That shoots slap-bass. What more could you want?
Since relocating to London from the filth of Teesside DiscoSocks has seen string of releases as well as picking up DJ support from the likes of Louis La Roche, Cherokee, Edwin Van Cleef, Lenno, Phonat, NAPT, His Majesty Andre & many more along the way.
This feel-good banger encompasses everything DiscoSocks is about, blistering slap bass over a criminally catchy hook at booty shaking tempo wrapped up with uncompromisingly aggressive production. The track also features live brass from The Brasscals (horn section of Dizzee Rascal fame).

Heavy Disco is the newly relaunched Nu-Disco and Tubofunk focussed sister label of MofoHifi – home to Phonat and Bobby Tank. Expect an EP from DiscoSocks later this year on the London imprint.
