Alizzz – Collapse EP
There’s a new approach, a new aesthetic emerging” proclaimed Clash Magazine in a recent write-up for the last Bobby Tank cut; a sentiment we have fully signed up for at MofoHifi as we explore further into the unrestricted, explosive future-funk template being pioneered by the likes of Flume, 813, Rustie and of course the aforementioned Bobby Tank.

Tron Major – Never Stop Running
Tron Major’s debut release fits beautifully into the MofoHifi family, all glitches and complextro-squelches but deconstructed into a more progressive down-tempo journey where nothing stays the same for long and the journey just keeps running.

Phonat Returns… (“Ride The Prejudice” Teaser Clip)
After nearly three years since his last release – years spent locked away painstakingly developing the exact sound he is looking for – the incredible Phonat returns this Summer with a new E.P. “Identity Theft”.
Phonat has crafted an exceptionally intimate and personal journey, exploring themes of the soul within the machine, the passage of time and the passions and challenges of the creator.
MofoHifi’s other electronic savant, Bobby Tank, premiered the first sneak peak at the forthcoming Phonat EP this week on BBC Radio One – the delicate but uplifting NuGarage influenced “Ride The Prejudice”, which he chose as his track to play on Phil Taggart and Alice Levine’s “Show and Tell” feature.
The new EP will be released by MofoHifi in association with OWSLA with a release date of June 4th.

Bobby Tank – Afterburn Video
To quote The Fader: “The maximalist UK producer Bobby Tank’s lavish funk anthem “Afterburn” now has a frantic, technicolor video befitting the single’s size. Picture three minutes of hitting the turbo-boost on Mario Kart’s Rainbow Road, except everyone’s topless. The glitchy transition between shots is immaculate.” (Buy on iTunes)

Alizzz – Loud EP
MofoHifi Records presents ‘Loud’, an EP from new Spanish electronic producer, Alizzz, which follows his teaser first release, “Neon Lights” earlier this year.
In common with his label-mates, Bobby Tank and Phonat, Alizzz revels in the luxurious melodic synth aesthetic of the 80s, super-tight post-dubstep beats and deconstructed vocal glitches. Favouring a lush, soulful route and bathing the listener in chordal bliss and RnB vibes, if ‘Brostep’ is the disease, Alizzz is the cure – furnishing the 140bpm world with tracks that eschew ear-grating Massive drops in favour of harmony, key changes, solos and slick 80s soul. The pulse of dubstep remains, but refocused as a platform for synth-beauty and boogie.
